Hucknall Town FC, like many other clubs, would like to place on record our disappointment with the decision to change the format of The FA Cup which has provided so much excitement and drama for the game and in particular for the clubs lower down the football pyramid. The abolition of replays removes the euphoria for lower level clubs who manage to secure a draw against the odds on the night, as well as much needed revenue in replays.

In reality this impact will be felt mainly by league clubs well above the level of our current position in the pyramid, nonetheless we support the growing number of clubs seeking a re-evaluation of these changes.

We would hope that this decision in response to so many clubs affected by this change can be reviewed again before the new season arrives.

The magic of The FA Cup, if these changes go ahead, will be hugely eroded.
