We take a short break from league action tomorrow night as we attempt to progress in the Notts FA Senior cup. We face a tough battle as we travel to Lord Hawke Way to face Newark Town.
This comes on the back of a good performance on Saturday which ended in heartbreak as we fell foul of a last minute penalty against Sleaford Town and had to settle for a point when it seemed a win was on the cards with minutes to go.
Caretaker Manager Chris Galley gave a positive account of that match."I was really pleased with the improved performance against Sleaford, the shape and organisation was exactly what I asked for. If I’m being really critical we could have been more clinical in front of goal and should have been out of sight but that is football. It’s always about taking chances. We build on that and move forward as a group. A special mention to Marcus and Jack, making their home debut's. They will both get fitter as they play more each week.
Turning to tomorrow's encounter, Galley is realistic about the task in hand. "Wednesday night will be another tough game but we must learn from our last encounter with them. No points up for grabs but a place in the next round and that’s our focus, let’s get in the hat".
Meanwhile the process for a replacement Manager is well underway with interviews taking place this week and we will update supporters as soon as a decision is made.
