NEXT UP AS THE MANAGER REFLECTS ON THE DEEPING RANGERS WIN...

Paul Burley2 Apr - 08:22

AFC Mansfield v Yellows

On Saturday we travel to Forest Town Arena to face AFC Mansfield in the UCL Premier Division North after what was a pleasing display and performance against Deeping Rangers at home last weekend.

Manager Tris Whitman reflected on that match. "A positive response to the previous weekend's defeat. Again we made a number of changes to the team as we continue to rotate to allow players opportunity to play.

"I felt Rangers started the brighter of the two teams but we then started to settle into the game. This was helped with the early sending off which enabled us to gain full control of possession.

"Similar to the Skegness game, we struggled to break down their low block but we found our way through when Solace broke through down the left to cut inside and score.

"We completely dominated the remainder of the game as Rangers looked to counter on turnovers. We doubled the lead through Sugars to make the game more comfortable. This was until we gave away a sloppy goal which made the final moments a little tense but we managed out the last few minutes professionally to record a good win".

A vital three points and another win this weekend could see Yellows get to within touching distance of mid table, however Whitman will have some decisions to make come the weekend. "This Saturday as we travel to AFC Mansfield, with the training load being reduced due to carrying a few injuries, we will be looking for a similar display from the squad".

The match kicks off at The Forest Town Arena, Forest Town, Mansfield at 3pm as we enter the last four matches of this league campaign.
