A cruel added time penalty denied Yellows all three points this afternoon at the RM Stadium. In a fairly tight affair, Yellows were certainly the better side but Sleaford were resolute in their defending.
Hulley came close inside the first 10 minutes, but was narrowly wide and Towle was denied on 21 minutes when his lob was pushed on to the bar by the oppositions keeper. Plenty of other half chances occurred for Yellows but Sleaford were robust at the back and it was all square at the break.
The second half saw Yellows with more opportunities and after a busy first half, man of the match Brad Lathall had his opportunity on goal on 50 minutes but his shot was wide. He was instrumental again soon after placing a ball to Towle who crossed to Oldham, but his shot was denied by an excellent save. The visitors had their chances too but Yellows maintained control of the game with some excellent defending and build up play, leading to a penalty on 75 minutes, which Towle clinically and coolley placed in to the left hand corner. Just as it looked like Yellows were to deservedly obtain all three points, they were denied by what looked like a soft penalty five minutes into added time and the match ended 1-1.
A solid display with plenty of chances for Yellows, but the single goal lead was nullified by a controversial injury time penalty for the visitors.
